Mr. Brandes has served as a consultant
to members of the bar on all aspects of New York Divorce and
Family Law trial practice, appellate practice, and law office
management. He was counsel in the landmark Court of Appeals cases
of Morone v Morone, Tucker v Tucker and McSparron v McSparron. He
co-authored with the Late Henry H. Foster and Dr. Doris Jonas
Freed, the nine volume treatise Law and the Family New York,
Second Edition (Westgroup). He co-authored with Carole L. Weidman,
volumes 3, 3A and 3B of Law and the Family New York Second
Edition, Revised and their four volume form set, Law and the
Family New York Forms, all published by Westgroup, Rochester, New
York. He authored volumes 4, 4a, 5 and 6 of Law and The Family,
New York Second Edition, Revised. From 1988 until April, 2002
Mr. Brandes authored "Law and The Family," a regular monthly
column in the New York Law Journal. He earned his J.D. at Brooklyn
Law School and his LL.M. at New York University.
